FP: First I would like to congratulate you on your decision to choose New Mexico.
EL: Thank you so much! I'm really excited for the opportunity!
FP: What made you choose New Mexico?
EL: My family & I really felt comfortable with all of the coaches. Also, I got to hang out with the girls on the team and I felt like I fit in with them, and I loved the city of Albuquerque.
FP: What other schools did you consider?
EL: I had planned to take official visits to Penn and Lafayette, and also considered Belmont and William & Mary.
FP: What position are you going to play at the school?
EL: I think I'll be playing a 2-3 guard, but wherever the coaches need me I'll be happy to play.
FP: Are you glad that you made an early decision to commit early?
EL: Yes! I feel relieved and am glad I can focus on my senior year now.
FP: What are your expectations for the first year?
EL: I know the transition from high school to college will be difficult, but I'm looking forward to working hard and getting stronger and doing my best.
FP: Have you decided on a major?
EL: I'm leaning toward Education or something in the Medical Field, but I'm not sure yet.
FP: What do you expect to bring to the program?
EL: Playing college basketball will be a challenge, but I'm going to work hard and do my best.
FP: Now that you have your College decision out of the way, what are your goals for the remaining of your high school career?
EL: I'm looking forward to finishing my high school basketball career playing with my younger sister Amanda this year. We have a lot of young talent that I'm excited to lead and compete for a district championship.
FP: Thanks for your time and the interview Emily and congratulations again.
EL: Thank you so much! I appreciate it.
