2014-15 Season and Playoffs Girls Basketball

Feb 4, 2015

By: Herb Thomas

We've witnessed another great season of girls basketball. I've traveled throughout the state this year and saw some great things, some of the usual winning squads Edgewater, Miami Country Day, Ribault, up and coming programs, Flagler Palm Coast, West Port, University Christian (Jacksonville), surprise teams Blanche Ely, South Fork, Eustis and also saw a few revived programs from turmoil Winter Park, Poinciana, Jenkins to name a few, and have saw some programs fall.

Over the passed week I've seen some great district games, I think the best couple of games I saw was Seminole vs Spruce Creek went down to the closing seconds and Seminole getting the victory 52-50, Poinciana upsetting Lake Wales 40-38 and some blowouts I don't care to talk about.

Regionals are ahead of us starting Feb 5 2015 and really excited to see who will rise to the challenge, will 8A Miami High, 7A Wekiva, 6A Edgewater 3 straight titles, 5A Southeast (Bradenton), 4A Ribault back to back champs, 3A Miami Country Day, 2A Grandview Prep, 1A Paxton retain there titles?

Stay tuned more to come including All Florida Prospects Team and candidates for Coach of the year and picks to win state.
