Dillard, Pinder Wins 9th Championship

Feb 26, 2015

By: Herb Thomas

Dillard got back to state this year and first opponent in there way was defending champion Southeast which I don't think had any idea what was coming there way. Dillard let them know early and often in this game they would not be denied leaving no doubt as they ran through the Seminoles 73-29. UCF commit Jamesha Paul 21pts 10rebs 3stls, Destiny Frazier 17pts 7stls 5ast 2blks, Jacaira Allen 12pts 10rebs 5ast.

Dillard set themselves up to play with surprise team Paxon who made it look easy against Land O' Lakes 56-13 led by Seniors Arianna Emmanuel-Wright 16pts 8rebs Rayven Wade 12pts 7rebs both committed to Santa Fe College also (So) Jha'ne Wheeler chipped in with 9pts.

Championship game Dillard vs Paxon very entertaining for a bit especially with (Jr) Destiny Frazier status uncertain due to a rib injury in the semifinal game and (Sr) Jamesha Paul looked to have had some breathing issues when she got fouled during the game, but Dillard and Coach Marcia Pender would not be denied its ninth championship kudos to Paxon for not backing down from the challenge though they lost 51-35. Jacaira Allen 14pts 9rebs 2stls, Jamesha Paul 13pts 8rebs 3stls Dillard. Arianna Emmanuel-Wright 15pts 12rebs, Jha'ne Wheeler 11pts & Rayven Wade 5pts 10rebs for Paxon.

Marcia Pinder 9-0 All-Time in State Championships and has the most girls state titles of any coach in state history great accomplishment wish her many more congrats to her and Dillard.
