After losing in the regional finals two years in a row, the Jensen Beach Lady Falcons are one game away from winning their school’s First state championship after a 48-43 victory over Orlando Bishop Moore.

For three quarters, Jensen Beach was able to frustrate and contain Orlando Bishop Moore’s star guard Lindsey Watson holding her to only four points while taking 13 point lead into the fourth quarter.

“We knew she was the focal point of the team and we felt if we could contain her we would be able to win the game. I felt that Latoya did a very good job of doing that and that is why we were able to get the lead and hold on to win the game.”

Bishop Moore trail the entire game until Lindsey Watson converted on a three point play to take the lead 44-43, but Latoya King took the inbound pass and drove down and converted a three point play to give the Falcons a 46-43 lead.

“I tried to tell the girls to go into a zone after we took the lead, but I guess they didn’t hear me. In retrospect, I wish I would have called a time out to gather them and let them know what we wanted to do.” Coach Brady said.

Jensen Beach advances to the finals to face Fort Myers Dunbar who came back from 10 points down at the half to defeat Jacksonville Andrew Jackson 32-30.
