Went to Jones this evening looking forward to a great game against Wekiva looking also at two of the top guards in the state (JR) Korneila Wright and (JR) Kyla Allison.

From the jump you could see it was gonna be a heavyweight fight. Coach Robert Moultrie for Jones with its man to man style pressure defense and Wekiva was without its head Coach Tommie Butts, but assistant Coach Latoya Russ did a great job stepping in, had the Mustangs ready to play, they went back and forth Jones 12-9 after the first quarter. More of the same in the second quarter as halftime was 19-17 Jones.

Third quarter Wekiva started to gain momentum even briefly took the lead, Ciara Cumbie who led the mustangs with 18pts did her best to keep Wekiva in the game, 31-30 Jones end of third.

It seemed Tigers Korneila Wright was on a mission to lockdown Wekiva's prime time player Allison held her to 0 field goals and only had two points which were free throws, while Wright had 19pts 9rebs 4stls 3ast.

Wekiva again was gaining momentum in the fourth quarter, but when Jones senior Quarria Jones who had 4pts and 5rebs took a charge which gave the momentum back to Jones, then (JR) Idaysha Sealey comes down scores a layup and got fouled. Then Jones played keep away and forced the mustangs to foul and the tigers shot free throws the rest of the game in which they won 45-39.

Jones floor general (JR) Mahogany Davis was steady and also played great defense, (JR) Idaysha Sealey finished with 8pts and freshman Chardell Jones finished with 7pts for Jones.
