Colonial high school came into the state tourney poised and ready to win a state championship they had beat there last six opponents by an average of 24 points coming into Lakeland. The first team in there way was Flagler Palm Coast an opponent who they faced a month prior and lost by two. Flagler jumped out the gate early led by (Sr) BCU commit Armani Walker with 8pts and rising (Jr) Ivana Boyd was playing out of her mind early as they jumped out to an 18-11 first quarter lead.

The Second quarter Colonial took advantage of Flagler's inexperienced young guards, trapping and pressuring them, this was a much bigger stage then playing in a high school gym as Colonial outscored them 16-6 in the quarter going up 27-24 going into halftime and never looked back outscoring Flagler 55-24 in the final three quarters and didn't help that Flagler main players were in foul trouble most of the game and Colonial did what they were supposed to do and won the game 66-42.

On the other side of the bracket we had Miami Senior vs surprise team Boca Raton which was pretty competitive Boca Raton jumped out early leading first quarter 14-13 but found themselves down 33-27 at the half, did have balanced scoring (Jr) Tracey Kemp 8pts 3stls 2ast, (So) Grace Marko 6pts 4rebs 2stls also (So) Rachel Levy 5pts 2blks, but Beatrice Mompremier had 11pts 11rebs 4blks at the half as Miami took off in the third quarter 15-7 run, and wound up winning the game 63-51.

Top Performers Beatrice (Sr) Beatrice Mompremier 21pts 21rebs 8blks, (Jr) Alondra Angulo 14pts (Sr) Annette Dukes 11pts Annelisse Vargas 9pts 6ast 5rebs Miami SR, (Jr) Tracey Kemp 14pts 4ast, (So) Grace Marko 14pts 6rebs, (So) Rachel Levy 13pts 3rebs Boca

Championship game was a rematch from two years ago when in the semifinal game Miami won the game at the buzzer over Colonial. Colonial 2.0 as they called themselves were looking to reverse the outcome and with this team it looked possible. The Grenadiers were up 11-10 after 1. Miami took control up 27-22 halftime.

In the third quarter Miami held Colonial to two points headed in the fourth up 35-23, the damage was already done, Colonial came out with one last run but it wasn't enough and Colonial's biggest threat senior leader Astaja Tyghter fouled out you had a sense game was over, which did end 44-37. To much once again from Miami's McDonalds All-American/Baylor signee Beatrice Mompremier 22pts 16rebs back to back champs.
