#97 Jonathan General, ATH, 6 feet 200 pounds
Measurables: 6 Feet 200 Pounds
Comparable Talent: Cortez Davis ATH Mainland Class of 2011
Overall Grade: 20.7
Athleticism: 4.2
Prospect has a great first step coming of the ball. General has excellent straight line speed. We haven’t been able to grade his hip fluidity and lateral movement based on the fact he played DE last year for Trinity. We are sure he is athletic enough to play Linebacker but we are not sold on him playing Safety at the next level.
Field Presence: 4.0
Jonathan anticipates plays very well. General has also proven himself to be a very instinctual football player (at least in the box). In general his instincts and speed project well to the next level but because he plays out of position and we cant know if those attributes will transfer to his natural position he receives the grade of 4.
Potential: 4.9
A former track star General may only be scratching the surface of his talent level. All indications are he is dedicated to becoming the best football player he can be which will serve him well at the next level.
Stature: 4.6
He has Good size for a Safety and decent size for a Linebacker and the frame to expand his body and ad another 20 pounds if needed.
Technique: 3.0
We want to see him shed blocks, read guard pulls, backpedal, stem, etc. Once we are able to verify that these are things he is capable of doing this grade is subject to change. General is still pretty raw but the techniques he will need to display at the next level we have only seen at camps thus far.
