Orlando Jones star defensive lineman Jerry Howard has played a major role in the recent resurgence to the Tigers football program. Last year he helped the Tigers finish with their first winning season in 11 years. He also led the Tigers to a victory over cross town rival Orlando Evans high school for the first time in 21 years.

Last year, Belle Glades Central went perfect in the regular season only to suffer an upset lost to Sarasota Booker in the State Semifinals. With the majority of their players returning and a top 25 national ranking, Central is determined to finished the job this year.. Recently, Florida Prospects Football Analyst Michael Holloway, got a chance to speak with Bryan Mann, quarterback of the Raiders to discuss the upcoming season, his college choices and the ESPN game his team plays against Byrnes High School.

On Friday August 18, the Celtics of Ocala Trinity Catholic began the 2006 football year like they ended it, with a win. Playing in front of a crowd of about 500 fans, the Celtics defeated the Madison County Cowboys 28-18 in the Fall Jamboree to start their first step of their journey to repeat as 2B state champions.
