Even though Auburndale guard Brandon Giles attends the same high school Houston Rockets guard Tracy McGrady once did, Giles is similar to a Prince. Many compare Giles to Tayshaun Prince of the Detroit Pistons because of his size and athleticism. He is a silky smooth player who is very versatile with a soft mid- range jump shot.

Winter Haven Ready for Another Title Run

After falling short of winning the 4A title in 2003, Winter Haven Blue Devils left no doubt as to who was the best team in the state last year beating previously undefeated Gainesville Eastside 56-23 to win the state title. It was the first title for Winter Haven and was head coach LeDawn Gibson first title after being the runner up three times in the last four years. With the first title out of the way, Winter Haven now focuses on the new upcoming season where there is only one goal. Win another state title.

St. Augustine Receiver Is One to Watch

St. Augustine Nease Wide Receiver Ryan Ellis followed the how to get recruited guidebook. To get recruited on a national level is simple. Put up big astonishing numbers for the world to talk about during your junior year and continue to do produce during your senior year. Play for one of the top rated teams in the state and become a key member of that team. Surely if you do all of that, colleges will be knocking down your door just to get an opportunity to sign you.
Orlando Guard Ready to Prove Doubters Wrong

Calvin Liptrot wants to set the record straight. The soft spoken guard from Orlando Jones High School feels that he is often Misunderstood. He hears that he doesn’t play hard at all times. He hears that he lacks the killer instincts on the court. What he wants the public to know is that he just wants to play basketball and help his team win a championship.

Jacksonville Defensive Lineman is One to Watch

The state is usually blessed with lineman who has the perfect mixture of speed and power. Central Florida Sleeper Ready to Take Flight

If timing is everything, then the South Florida Bulls' coaching staff has it. The University of South Florida came out a winner when Dante Curry, 6’5” guard from Poinciana High School verbally committed to become a Bull next season during the summer AAU season. The future Bull has the ability to change the pace of a game by playing solid defense and scoring quickly. He is described as being a savvy, smooth, athletic guard with the most consistent shot in the state.
Down but Not Out

Jacksonville Sandalwood star athlete Jamar Hornsby wants everyone to know that he may be down, but he's no where near out of the game. Hornsby, rated number 2 in the Florida Prospects top 100 for 2006 started the season at running back, in an unselfish move to help his team generate some offense.

He had just transferred to a different school and was out the majority of the season with an illness.
