With all the press that Lakeland’s running back duo of Chris Rainey and Jamar Taylor receives, it is often easy to overlook the main reason for their success. The play of the offensive line. Over the past three years, Lakeland has had one of the best offensive lines in the state. Last year Chaminade-Madonna won the 2A state title in convincing form led by a rushing attack that was one of the best in the state. This year they plan on repeating the task as they return the majority of their offensive line back for the upcoming season. Florida Prospects Football Analyst Michael Holloway caught up with Chaminade's best lineman, Emeka Nwankwo, widely considered as one of the best offensive lineman in the state to talk about their chances of repeating and where he might be attending school.

After leading his team to a third consecutive final four appearance and winning numerous awards including Florida Prospects Boys Basketball Player of the Year and Mr. Basketball for the state of Florida, Lake Howell star guard Nick Calathes had all eyes on him heading into the summer. Recently, Calathes had an opportunity to play for the United States Basketball team in Europe where he helped to lead the team to victory and earned a spot on the All Tournament Team. Florida Prospects Basketball Analyst Robert Sumpter recently caught up with Calathes to talk about his experience and discuss his future plans.

The hottest spot in Florida this month was not south Florida, but in Gainesville, Florida where over two hundred of the southeastern part of United States showed up to impress the twenty-five or more division one colleges on hand. With the majority of the talent in attendance from the sunshine state, this years Nike Camp had all in attendance all smiles and in hopes to land some of these top recruits. We here at FloridaProspects.com got the pleasure of sitting down three days afterwards with four of the college coaches that were at the Nike Camp to get some of their expert analysis on the camp. Since the NCAA does not allow the names of the coaches to be used in recruiting of players, we will use coach A, B, C, and D as reference.

Another Lincoln Athlete Ready to Take on the State

Tallahassee Lincoln football program has been one of the best programs in the nation over the past ten years. Over that span, Lincoln has won two state titles and had over 50 kids to receive college scholarships to play football. This year, the Trojan program is as strong as ever. With the majority of their starters returning from last year, which includes at least five players who will receive offers from major Division One schools. One Trojan who has received many offers is star athlete Brandon Paul.

The Mustang Effect

Over the last ten years, Mandarin High School has become a pipeline to Division-One college football programs. The Mustangs boasts players like, Tony Carter, who started for FSU as a freshman at defensive back and Gerard Sinclair hard hitting linebacker who saw a lot of playing time as a freshman with South Carolina. This year, Charlton Sinclair will be the next Mustang ready for the jump to Division-One football next fall.
