Premium Story Lakeland DB Ready to Prove He's the Best

The Lakeland Dreadnaughts had a dream season this year. They finished the season with a perfect 15-0 record, winning their second straight 5A state championship and the mythical national championship crown as well by finishing number one in the USA today high school poll. As good as the Dreadnaughts were this year, they can be even better this year. The team was led by playmaking juniors on both sides of the balls. One player hoping to lead the Dreadnaughts to a third state title is junior defensive back Ahmad Black.

Coming into the 2005 football season, no player had a bigger target on his back than St. Augustine Nease All-American quarterback Tim Tebow. After passing for over 4,000 yards and over 50 combined touchdowns during his junior campaign, expectations for a magical senior year was set very high. While breaking numerous school and state records, Tebow led his school to it’s first ever state football championship. He has also earned our award as Florida Prospects Football Player of the Year.
