Orlando Evans has really improved thanks to Coach Herndon

Florida Prospects staff, along with speed and condition coach Herndon stood on the sidelines of Episcopal Spring Jamboree Friday night and watched the progress of the speed and agility kids shine brightly.

First, Orlando Evans was a bruising runner who dragged would be tacklers all over the field, and showed more burst on a 45-yard carry and more speed on another 35-yard carry for a score. He finished with stats that totaled two touchdowns on 12 carries for 135 yards, not to mention he played both ways on offense and defense.

Chuck Winfield, a 9th-grader from Episcopal who also participates in the camp, had some impressive sweeps run around the end showing why defenses will have to respect the youngster this year. Tre Herndon of Jacksonville Bolles, was not to be out shined by anyone in the game catching some well thrown balls from Bolles quarterback Randy Hardin, who looked eager to throw after an injury last year and was very sharp.

It was Herndon though that put on a wide-receiver clinic picking up where he left off in Nike camp in Gainesville last Saturday by running circles around any defensive back they put on him. "I was just out there having fun and ready to catch some balls for my team." said Herndon. "I have a awesome quarterback in Randy Hardin and we're just getting started." Herndon's numbers for two quarters of action is what most high school receivers do in a whole game having caught nine balls for 125 yards with two touchdowns, and a pretty two-point conversion.

Can coach Herndon and the rest of Florida Prospects Speed and Agility kids get any better? To find out more about how Florida Prospects Speed and Agility camp can help you contact Michael Holloway at mholloway@floridaprospects.com or call (800) 761-8854
