Every Wednesday during the football year, Florida Prospects showcase an athlete who may not be known throughout the state, but could easily be a Division One athlete. Today we showcase Lake Brantley star athlete Carl Randolph.

Randolph is one of the best athletes in the Central Florida area. Standing at 5’9 175lbs, Randolph is not your ideal quarterback, but he is an athlete who has it all as a player. He has the speed to outrun opponents the strength to break tackles and more importantly anytime he steps on the field, he is usually the smartest player.

“Most people view my size as a disadvantage but I actually view it as an advantage. With my size, I am able to fit into smaller holes and use my scrambling ability better than some other quarterbacks.”

Randolph made changes over the summer as he transferred from Apopka to attend Lake Brantley. He states that it was a family decision and that Lake Brantley was a better fit for him.

With the challenge of attending a new school, Randolph stated that he prepared harder than ever over the off-season, going over film and working out daily.

Randolph’s hard work has definitely paid off for him as he is one of the reasons why Lake Brantley is 8-1 and is returning the state playoffs. For the season, Randolph has passed for close to 500 yards and has rushed for over 700 yards with eight touchdowns.

“I just really feel bless to be put in a position to succeed at Lake Brantley. When I first came over here, my coaches trusted me with the offense even though I was the new kid at the school. I just feel like that I am in the perfect offense with the perfect coaches who allows me to create plays for my team.”

“Randolph is a very special athlete who will probably play defensive back or play slot receiver on the next level. He is very fast and has great footwork. What I like most about him is his football I.Q. He is a very smart player on the field and I feel with his work ethic, he will be successful wherever he go.” Florida Prospects Football Analyst DeCarlo Fernandez said.

As of now Randolph doesn’t have any offers, but he expects that to change by the end of the season.

“I have been getting plenty of calls from coaches and I feel that they are very interested in me. I am just basically looking for a school that has a good program and good team morale. I know I am going to be able to help any school because of my work ethic and my desire.” Randolph said.

Florida Prospects will continue to follow Randolph as he prepares to lead his team through the playoffs and makes his choice of what school he will be attending.
