Over the past decade, the state of Florida has produced some of the best defensive lineman in the nation. From College All Americans like Warren Sapp and Derrick Alexander of the 90’s, to Corey Simon and Vince Wilfork of the early 2000, the state has been a gold mine for lineman for colleges everywhere. The state hopes to continue its run of great lineman this year with many talented prospects in the state. Leading the way for the 2006 class will be Kendrick Ellis of John I. Leonard High School.

The past couple of years, the state of Florida have been blessed with some of the top quarterbacks in the nation. The class of 2004 had six quarterbacks to sign to major Division One schools. This past class continued Florida’s dominance with four quarterbacks to sign to major Division One schools. This year look for the trend to continue as the state has a plethora of quarterbacks who will sign offers to play for major college schools. One player looking to earn an offer to a major college is Cody Clinton of Boca Raton High School.

The camp brings some of the premier players of the state and evaluates them based on speed, power and agility. The highlight of the event is when the players battle against each other in individual skills. This event usually separates the good players from the great players. One player who established himself as one of the best players at his position is Tampa Jefferson offensive lineman Deron Rose.

In recent years Colleges has started to take a liken to the bigger wide receiver. Last year, the top three receivers in the class of 2005 Fred Rouse, Michael Moore, and Louis Murphy all stood over 6’2. This year the state will continue its recent trend and produce many wide receivers 6’2 and above. Leading the way will be East Ridge Wide Receiver Richard Jackson.
