Orlando Dr. Phillips came into Friday’s night game against Seminole looking to prove that they were one of the best teams in the Central Florida area.  After a 34-22 impressive victory over the Seminoles, the Panthers sent a message that they are ready to take on the state.

“We just wanted to come out here and show that we are one of the best teams in the state.  We knew it was there homecoming and we were just fired up to play against them.  Now we need to get ready for the next game and come out with the same intensity.”  Dr. Phillips Quarterback Nico Ranieri said.

Dr. Phllips controlled the game from the opening kickoff as they were able to move the ball down the field with ease on their opening possession finishing with a four yard run by sophomore Demetrius Hart.

“We knew they had a tough defense and our mindset was to come out and control the game from the beginning.  We did a good job of that and executed our game plan.  We just have to continue to keep playing the way we did today for the rest of the season.”  Hart said.

The Seminoles, who was playing without star athlete Andre Dubose, wasn’t able to produce much offense on the night finishing with 172 yards total offense with most of their yardage coming once the game was already decided.

While the Seminoles struggled on offense, Dr. Phillips had no problems moving the ball up the field.

The Panthers finished with 333 yards of total offense with most of their yards coming through the air.

Dr. Phillips quarterback Nico Ranieri had a field day against the Seminoles defense finishing 15-20 with 290 yards and four touchdowns.

While all eyes was on junior wide receiver Recardo Miller, it was the Panthers other junior wide-out, Kenny Shaw who dominated the game with five catches for 110 yards and two touchdowns.

“We have a great group of young players.  They are all unselfish and they all want each other to do well.  Tonight we came out focus and played a complete game on both sides of the ball.”  Coach Dale Salapa said.
