After going 3-10 the previous year, the Braves came into the season with high expectations of turning around the program. Unfortunately, injuries hit the Braves with their starting quarterback going down in the 2nd quarter of the first game of the year. Year 2 of Parker’s resurgence is underway and with do it all player Tyrone Williams, they are certain to be better.

After a year and a half of watching football, Tampa Catholic Wide Receiver Nate Craig-Myers finally was able to get back on the field and contribute for his team. In his first game back, Craig-Myers help lead Tampa Catholic to a 45-16 victory over Indian Rocks Christian in the first game of the 2015 football season.

On Sunday June 1, 2013 Showtime Ballers hosted the Reebok Open Run Orlando Florida. The Event purpose is to have some of the best talent in the state competing for an opportunity to compete against some of the best talent in the nation at Reebok University. Over the past few years, the camp has send players such as Patrick Young, Shane Larkins and Aaron Bowens to the camp and all have moved on to play major college basketball.

This past weekend, 84 for 32 Hoops in injunction with Reebok hosted their third Reebok Headliner camp in Jacksonville Florida. The camp is designed to showcase some of the top underclassmen in the state, and it gives an opportunity for the top players of the camp to compete at Reebok University.
Dr. Phillips Advances to the Finals

After losing to Miami Lourdes Academy in the state semifinals, Orlando Dr. Phillips Lady Panthers immediately set a goal of not only returning to Lakeland, but to go to the championship game. After a 51-41 victory over South Broward in their semifinal game, the Panthers has accomplished their team goal and now has their sights on a state title.

The 5A state semifinals game between Gainesville Buchholz and Ft. Lauderdale Dillard featured two teams with different championship histories. Buchholz had just made the final four after losing in the regional finals for three consecutive years by a total of eight points while Dillard had just won their fifth state title under legendary head coach Marcia Pender. In a game between two of the most physical teams in the state, Dillard hung on to defeat Buchholz 60-54 and to advance to the 5A state championship game on Saturday.

Panthers Destroy Rival Titans in Early Test

Last year, Orlando Dr. Phillips and Orlando Olympia played two games against each other that went down to the final play of the game and Dr. Phillips winning. This year, the Panthers didn’t leave any room for doubt as they defeated the Titans 49-0 in front of a sold out Titan stadium.

Over the past five years, the St. Augustine North Marion football game has been one of the most exciting games in the state. Last night was the latest edition of the rivalry as the Yellow Jackets held on to defeat the Colts 14-6 in front of a packed house Friday night.
