Winning the 3A state title and going undefeated, the Yellow Jackets finished ranked number two on the Florida Prospects Final Football Poll Rankings. Although they lost some players to graduation, the Yellow Jackets have many players returning from their state championship team. Shortly after losing to Palm Beach Dwyer in the state semifinals in the 2004-2005 season, Lake Howell guard Nick Calathes made a decision. He had just put up over 30 points against one of the best players in the state and on the state biggest platform he proved that he was one of the best players in the state as a sophomore. His play in Lakeland was just the beginning of what would be a magnificent junior season ending with him being chose as this year’s Florida Prospects Boys Basketball Player of the Year.

Orlando Defensive Lineman Ready to Prove that He is The Best in the State

After years of losing, Orlando Jones High School may have turned the corner with their football program. With a 7-4 record, Jones had their first winning season in over five years. One of the keys to there resurgence was the play of their defense which held seven opponents to under 14 points last year. For Jones to continue its winning ways, their defense must be dominant again. Leading the way for the defense will be OLB/DE Jay Howard.
